Lessons
Driving lessons can be taken in several ways. Which is the best for you ?
1 Hour/Week is quite popular, usually taken by people who are in no rush to pass the driving test.
1½ Hours, for people who want to get more driving out of the lesson. This is ideal if
you want to pass your test sooner rather than later.
2 Hours/Week, can be taken as a double lesson or broken down into 2, 1 hour lessons.
Again for a person who wants to get to test standard that little bit quicker.
Or for people living out in the countryside where it may take 20-25 mins
to drive into Louth / Grimsby.
Intensive Driving Course. If you want to take the shortest possible route, then
an intensive course may be what you’re looking for. An example is to do a 30 Hr
intensive where you will have 6 Hrs/Day spread over 5 Days. The Driving test
will take place on the last hour of the course.
Semi-intensive Course. This is very similar to the above. However you can
spread the lessons over 10 days rather than 5.
With Intensive courses a 1 hour assessment lesson is required to establish lessons required.
(Please note when booking intensive courses you will need to have already
passed the theory/hazard perception test)
What happens during a lesson?
After being greeted by your Instructor you will make yourself comfortable, ensuring you can reach the main controls of the car and can get a good view from your driving mirrors.
The instructor will give a recap on the previous lesson, going over any relevant topics.
You will then be given a brief on the current lesson using a coloured presenter. The brief consists of showing, by use of diagrams how to safely carry out the task that is to be learnt. This is then followed by the instructor asking a few questions to the pupil to see if there are any issues that the pupil is unsure of. After this the pupil then goes on to practice the task or subject of the lesson.
At the end, a recap on this lesson is carried out,
discussing any area’s that need to be covered. The instructor then sets out what the next lesson will be and books that in his diary.
